I'm a social worker with a fine job who is thinking about moving on in the near future. I am SO happy to have found this book to help me with this process. While I haven't found a job yet, I have only just started looking at what's out there (and, with the help of this book, realizing what I want and how I can get it!).

If you are going to be getting any kind of job ever you must read this book first. The first thing this book does is explain the way the current job market works and why it is so important to approach it as a guerrilla. That's really important given how different it is to look for employment today than it was even just a few years ago. Then it goes on and tells you *how* to be a guerrilla. From this book I got concrete tools (including a new résumé, an updated LinkedIn profile and additional contacts, and great starting points for cover letters) as well as ideas and strategies for actually using them.

My major criticism is that this book is intended for a corporate/business audience and it is difficult to translate some of the ideas to my field (social work). One of the major principles in the book is the importance of emphasizing your accomplishments, and that's a lot harder when progress isn't measured in numbers or dollars. It seems that this would apply to many other fields (maybe this is for Version 4.0?). Still, I have found this book to be essential reading and I highly recommend it.
